PMs on Assets in Warehouse

From: InComm Solutions Inc. (2016-10-18 22:51)

Hi guys: anyone got a good setup for doing PMs on assets in the warehouse?

These are PMs that only need to be done if the asset is actually in the
warehouse, i.e. lube or spin test, etc. Once the asset moves out of the
warehouse into an operating location, that PM should stop, and likewise, it
should start back up again when the asset moves back into the warehouse
(basically this is for rotables, of course).

TIA

Great question, Shannon. My first thought is low-tech (read inexpensive). A simple, resettable timer or even a paper log to track time on the shelf of each asset. The data would then feed a meter-based PM.

Can't you code that into the auto generation query?
Think I've got this iPad thing handled now.

You create virtual locations in the warehouse for those assets specifically, and write the PM to the location. Suppress workorder gen if there are no assets at the location.
