V7.5 Upgrade

From: Incomm Solutions Inc. (2011-11-22 22:14)

Has anyone else had problems with the upgrade script for V7.5? I've just
spent 2 days trying to get from 7.1.1.8 to 7.5. The script has been riddled
with errors that I consider to be very basic, and I cannot believe that
anyone has tested them. I'm really disappointed in IBM for this .

Shannon,
I spent more than 3 weeks working through the errors generated by our upgrade from 6.x to 7.1.1.8 earlier this year. I encountered something on the order of 20 errors that I ended up creating my own scripts or modifying a few of IBM's. Your experience with this upgrade doesn't surprise me. And IBM was absolutely useless in resolving the errors. After reporting the first two errors and opening help desk tickets for them, I gave up on IBM after about a week and decided to figure out and mitigate the issues myself, rather than wait for IBM. It took them over 2 months to ever get back to me on those original two issues, by which time I had already worked through those errors and a dozen more.

Shannon,
Funny this am, we ran 7.1.1.8 through integrity and over 300 errors and over 250 warnings?? We never did anything with the DB in 7.1.1.8 and are running it through fix as they state, so I will let you know what we come back.
What I can't understand the errors are errors and warning we already corrected to pass validate??

Yes, I had severe problems with an 6.2.4 to 7.1.1.8 upgrade earlier this
year as well. We had originally decided on upgrading to 7.1.1.5 since
that's the patch our version of 6.2 upgraded to (and what a horrible idea
that was, to have a moving target of patches!), but 7.1.1.5 was so unstable
that we ended up having to go to 7.1.1.8 AND install WebSphere fix packs as
well. The main problems: reports, linked documents, and general stability
- it kept crashing, on average, twice a day. It took me about 2 months to
get it up and running properly.

I miss the old MRO days .
