re:[MAXIMO List] Communication Temp Attribute FROM email

From: ewald h. caspari (2015-06-12 14:57)

Hi,
that's very easy: (For Maximo 6 and Maximo 7.5) goto communication templates,
change tab to recipients and then open the uppermost section (the little square
right of 'Download').
You can enter an existing one or goto Roles and create a new one.

We use roles for nearly every communicaition template. and it works fine.

If you don't find it, I can send you a screenshot, just give me an personal
mail.

Regards
Ewald

-----------------------
I have NEVER found a way to use a ROLE for SEND FROM or REPLY TO. Maximo does
not seem to allow this. If you have found a way, please post details.

Yes, but not in the SENDFROM or REPLYTO fields. I'd be interested in that myself.

Sounds like it should be an enhancement request.

You can construct the entire email from scratch using automation scrips or Java via the mailer object but then you start to lose the niceties of communication templates.

Oddly: I thought I saw something in the KB, so I did another search and came up with this:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1IZ74596

It says that issue was “fixed” in 7.1.1.7.

Interesting ...

I contacted IBM to follow up on this and you can use a variable from the current record only, it will not support a relationship. So if you have a field with the a users email you could use :useremail.

It looks like we will go the automation script route.
