We have just purchased Linear and are getting ready to implement it for our water piping system. I'm looking for other utilities or companies using Linear & Spatial that can offer some helpful hints for configuring them and the link to GIS to be the most useful to us. We implemented Spatial last year, but it could still use some work to make it really useful.
Some more specific questions:To segment or not to segment? What is the philosophy you use to segment your pipes into assets and locations?What all equipment along the pipeline do you identify as assets and what as locations? Benefits? Drawbacks?Do you use middle-ware between MAXIMO Linear/Spatial and GIS and what software is it? Benefits? Drawbacks?Anything else that could help us make sure we have a successful implementation?
Would you be willing to allow Tampa Bay Water personnel to visit your site within the next month and view and discuss your implementation with you?
