You did everything right. Just make sure that your datasource is named maximoDataSource.

I am trying to connect Birt reports to an external data source.
For that in Report Administration. ..Select Action...Configure Data Sources, I entered the correct values. when clicked on Test Connection.. got success message. Now my reports still running on default database(database which is connected to Maximo). But I want my Birt reports should be connected to the new database which I configured as above. How to point BIRT reports to this external data source?
Please help.

I did everything correct. But missed to restart app server. After restarting app server, now all my reports are pointed to New Database.
