ISSUE WITH "CREW" FIELD

From: Zeroxpectations (2012-03-20 13:13)

Good day.  I have another issue that I am hoping someone can assist me with.  Within several different Maximo apps there is a CREW field that displays an "ID for a given crew within a craft".  In this particular example (though the reults are the same for all) I am looking at the Labor app.  The problem is that when I click the spyglass icon to select a crew there are no available choices.  Doing a little basic research (DATA CONFIGURATION) I found that the domain associated to this field was CREWID.  I then went to DOMAIN and pulled up CREWID and eveything displayed correctly.  There were several rows within the menu and I could even create/save new ones.  Does anyone have an idea as to why the DOMAIN is not being properly displayed when utilizing the CREW field?  Perhaps I should delete the existing CREWID domain and create a new one in hopes that the old one is corrupt?  Would that require a restart to take affect?

Thanks in advance

Do you have multiple organizations and/or multiple sites?
If yes, the following used to be a problem.  (I do not know if it has been fixed as a bug, or is still this way.  My current client uses a custom domain for this field.)

If you have filled in the orgainization or site for even one record, you need to add more records.

Example, I have two orgs with three sites each.
Org1, SiteA, SiteB, SiteC
Org2, SiteD, SiteE, SiteF

Crew ids , Crew1, Crew2, Crew3, Crew4

I add these to the domain without any sites and all show up OK.

But, we realize that Crew4 only works for Org1, SiteB - so add that information.

Now, no crews show up for the other sites, as this domain has become site specific and there are not any values for those sites.

We will need to add the following:
Crew1, Org1, SiteACrew1, Org1, SiteBCrew1, Org1, SiteCCrew1, Org2, SiteDCrew1, Org2, SiteECrew1, Org2, SiteF
 Crew2, Org1, SiteACrew2, Org1, SiteBCrew2, Org1, SiteCCrew2, Org2, SiteDCrew2, Org2, SiteECrew2, Org2, SiteF
 Crew3, Org1, SiteACrew3, Org1, SiteBCrew3, Org1, SiteCCrew3, Org2, SiteDCrew3, Org2, SiteECrew3, Org2, SiteF

All sites will now have three record show up with the exception of Org1, SiteB - that site will have four on the list.
