Hello,
I'm wondering how to generate route work order sequenced.
I want to have a route PM with a 1month job plan and another job plan used for 6 month.
I have tried to have a sequenced job plan and a route but it does not work,
thanks for your help.
Let me make sure I understand this correctly:
You have a PM that generates every month? And every 6th time it generates you want it to use a different job plan? And it uses the same route for both plans?
If that is it, it should be pretty straight-forward:
--On the PM tab, select a value for the ROUTE and for the "regular" job plan. And fill in any of the other information you need.
--On the Frequency tab, put in your Frequency information (1 MONTH and a start date)
--On the Job Plan Sequence tab, Job Plan Sequence child table window, add a new row for the "every-6th-month" job plan. Give it a sequence number of 6.
--Change the PM Status to ACTIVE.
That really should be it. That should make the next 5 PM generations have the "regular" job plan and the 6th one have the other plan.
Now if you need to have the other plan generate, say, the second PM generation from now, you need to change your PM Counter (on the Action menu) to 4. So the next time it generates it will make the counter value 5 and generate the normal one. Then the next time the counter will go to 6 and generate the other plan.
If that doesn't solve it, please give more detail on what it is doing that makes you say it is "not working." Is it not generating the right plan, not generating a plan at all, not using the route, not generating work orders entirely, not generating on the right day, etc. Also, did you create your PM from scratch or did you duplicate an existing PM?

Travis thanks,
like you say works but I'm not explain myself enough. First we would like to the job plan as much generic as possible andhave the job plan at the level of the route to generate specific work indication for each asset but with sequence, in fact the job plan sequence in that case is for the parent WO and not for each asset.
For example: we have a 50 asset in one building fire and gas detector route we have a 1M job plan for each detector and a 6M job plan (no material, no tools) and 12M (with material + tools). We have also a similar routes in 40 other buildings with different number of assets.
1) the parent WO should be generic with a duration to be the sum of all child WO, with operation like (check all instruments as per route)
2) the child WO should be different for 1M and 12M, with 12M with material.
If we use the job plan sequence without job plan at route level; the parent WO will be incorrect (duration, tools, material), but the child will be correct.
If we use the job plan sequence (generic) with a route level job plan the parent WO will have the same duration for all buildings what ever the number of detectors in the route and the route child will have the same work order what ever the sequence.
For this I tought it would have be possible to sequenced the job plan in the route which would be more logical.
Hope my problem is more clear.
Maybe some could share their way to build fire and gas route in Maximo when they have many buildings to manage.
Regards,

If I understand you correctly, I think what you will need to do is have 2 PMs PER BUILDING.
1) -- the one-month plan -- make the PM; attach your generic job plan, and set the duration of this generic job plan to be "the sum of all child WO" as you wanted; to each route stop attach your specific one-month job plans;
2) -- the twelve-month plan -- do same as for the one-month plan but add/change all the info as needed for the big twelve-month inspection
3) Now to your PM's, use Active Seasons to control when it generates. Basically put one entry for the one-month plan for 11 months of the year, and one entry in the twelve-month plan for the month the one-month plan excluded. For example, say your twelve-month job is in September. To the one-month plan, put the Active Dates for January - August and October - December (or maybe just one entry from October - August will do); then to the twelve-month plan make it Active for September.
Again, you will probably have to do this for EACH BUILDING so you can control the Duration as you desire.
It'll be a bit of work, but I think you can achieve what you are wanting.

you understood correctly, I was worried I had to do like you suggest, to bad.
But I had not tought about active season this is a nice tip, it will work, the importance it's not why work which I have to do only once but the maintenance work order result.
Thanks,
