Job Plan Sequencing

From: Miranda Anderson (2015-01-19 17:44)

Omigosh, I am having such a hard time wrapping my head around Job Plan sequencing!
I have a chiller that wants JP=Recip-op every two months in the summer (June and August).
When October hits, we do a shutdown (JP=Recip-fall) of the equipment, and when April arrives, we do a start-up (JP=Recip-Spr).
I have a lot of equipment on similar (uneven) schedules.
Can I put it on a two-month frequency with the shutdown and startup at 6 and 12?
The reason for my confusion is that Maximo documentation indicates that the counter is increased when a Work Order is created, but no WO will be created during December and February.
Thanks.

you may be better off making separate PMs and using the seasonal date tab to delineate when they are required to be performed.
just a thought.

Since it's only 4 months, I THINK you can get away with:

1. RECIP-SPR
2. RECIP-OP
3. RECIP-OP
4. RECIP-FALL

Then make sure your season is marked as April to October.

Normally I wouldn't repeat a Job Plan in a sequence, but in this case you
have to, in order for the August work order to come out right.

Just my $.02 worth.

Change the frequency for pm records. Set it to 60 days. And then set pm
counter to 0. Use forecasting method. Individualy and then set again the
dates freqent.last completion plus frequency unit. 6 sequence will be
generated if set to 60 days

I take this back ... the first year, you would get away with this. But the second year, it wouldn't work ... unless you reset the counter to 0 after each year.

Yeah, I ended up making two PMs for each piece of equipment: One to run the two startup/shutdown routines (which luckily happen every six months) and one to run the two-month checkups. This is highly inelegant, difficult to maintain, and runs counter to anti-proliferation strategy.
