Re: MAXIMO 4.0.3 compatibility matrix

You will get a lot of problems. It's very lonmg ago since I worked with maximo4. I remember issues with reading numeric values from the database.
Perhaps you have one chance, if you can use the old client on the pcs where maximo is installed. As far as I know oracle is downwards compatible, but this is just a guess.
Better upgrading to Max 7. If you don't have too much customizations (Triggers and database procedures) you should not have too much trouble.

Hi,

I guess all of the Oracle users are on vacation?

In the 4 versions of Maximo the database versions seemedto make quite a difference. They had a lot of code written that did not alwayswork in a newer version of the database.

I don't use Oracle but if that version you want to usewas not supported in 4.0.3 you'll be taking a big leap of faith that Maximowill always work with it. For instance I think 4.1.1 was only up to SQL 7 andwould not work with later versions. Or maybe you had to install patches to makeit work with later versions.

You should look at upgrading to 7.5. You'll probably needsome outside help to import the data from 4.0.3 to 7.5. We were on 4.1.1 andimported to 7.1.1.6.

We attempted to get Maximo 4.1 working on Oracle 9 a few years ago. Our purpose was purely to hold a copy of Legacy data that we did not bring forward to Maximo 6.
I recall that there were some fundamental problems/limitations with Maximo 4/Oracle 9. I don't recall exactly but the system was unusable for anything other than reviewing legacy data. I believe we ran into Oracle errors when trying to add users.
