RE: [MAXIMO List] Maximo 7.5 Data Migration Manager

From: Harris, Paul (2012-06-07 08:38)

Our global template was built by applying all our business processes to 6.2, we then refined this in another instance of 6.2, then migrated to 7.5. We have had it working, and it goes well. The SI is telling us we need to use the Migration Manager to keep all our instances in sync with prod, in the past we just do a refresh as we need to, eg. If we want to do some development work we refresh from prod and then test, apply changes to UAT if required, do acceptance test then apply to prod. My concern is if we don't set this up properly (they are not providing any details on how it will work yet) that we may end up overwriting one of our environments while in the middle of work, or that setting this tool up will be a lot of cost for minimal benefit.

What do you mean by a template? Do you mean you have configured Maximo in a
particular way? Can you tell us a little more about the granularity of what
you are trying to move from where to where etc?
