Environment: Maximo v7.1, DB2 9.7, WebSphere v6.1, Window 2003
I am facing following file formatsissue which are not supported for attaching a file in Work order;
1. Picture in .jpeg format. As you know .jpeg is the latest and most usedformat for pictures. 2. Word file formats (.docx, .docm, .rtf, .doc).3. XL file formats (.xlsx, .xml, .xlsm, .xltx, .csv, .pm,.diff).
Kindly help me how to resolve this issue.
I'll be thankful for your prompt response.

xlsx is OK on my 7.1.1.5 system, with SQL Server & Windows 2008 - check the web.xml file in maximo\properties
this shows the extensions and associated applications.
NB - the extensions are case sensitive, so you nay need to duplicate them if you sometimes use upper case extensions

Add Required file formats in System Properties Application "
mxe.doclink.doctypes.allowedFileExtensions". Issue will be fixed.

This is similiar with: "Cannot open docx files in Maximo"
To resolve this issue, please use the following workaround.
1. Go to Websphere installation and locate mime.types file (e.g mime.types
in C:\Program Files\ibm\HTTPServer\conf)
2. Backup existing mime.types file (zip or copy to other location) and add
following line to the existing mime.types file
:-application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document
docx
3. Save the mime.types file and restart Websphere HTTP Server
4. Try to open docx attachment using IE 8. This should open correctly with
MS Word.

I think, you can combine all newer office formats and try like this too.
