Re: Cannot Download List to Excel ?

From: David Teece (2013-07-02 14:53)

We are on version 6 but I find that since we upgraded our OS to Windows 7 and began using Office 2010 the list download creates an Excel file that has an html extension. The beep is a window that is in the background saying that the files in not of the proper format and asking if we still want to continue. To find the window you have to click on the Excel icon on the taskbar

Try this. Go to Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types and make sure that ALL the Excel related file types are setup to open with Excel. This may not be the default setting for spreadsheets that are generated from a website in WIN7. Also, the path may be slightly different in WIN7 but I'm sure you can find it. I know that when I got a new laptop at work on WIN XP I had to do this.
