We are doing that as well. Probably some custom code. I like to be proactive and be notified as soon as possible until we get the correct fix.

May be you should look why you are getting out of memory rather then be notified when this will occur

Lonnie, is this on 7.5? I've been testing an automation script action running from an escalation to scan logs, it should be fairly easy to have it look for the error then send out an email.
