What version of Maximo and application server are you using ? There is a problem with websphere if you use ldap. You have to change the ltpa token session time out to a longer time like 10 hours. In Maximo there is a session timeout for the application but there is also hard limit on the ldap token that will kick you out of Maximo if your browser session is past that time.
This may apply to you if you are using Maximo 7.1 or 7.5
