RE: [MAXIMO List] WebSphere Heapdump Notification

From: Lonnie Stone (2013-04-18 21:34)

Win2008r2. Clustered 6 UI jvm, 2 MIF/CRON jvm. 3 RPT jvm across 3 servers.
64bit websphere, 64bit Java
Less than 100 concurrent users in system when it had the heapdump.
Diagnosing the cause isn't the issue though. I am looking to have advanced notification before a user calls me.

Hi Lonnie,
Can you please provide your current configuration, what’s on the machine, what your running, how many users / jvm are you trying to support – etc??
Are you able to send excepts from the logs showing how much memory is in use, and what the MBO counts are on each of the Maximo services? If you don’t have it – get BareTailPro from BareMetal Software (http<space>://baremetalsoft<space> .com/baretailpro/index.php) and use it to filter the logs to show mbo counts on the highest offenders and the memory counts (it’s pretty awesome that way).
Please tell me your running with a 64 bit system, 64 bit Java, etc?? :)
R/
Will

Yes it is 7.5.0.2. If you can share I would be very appreciative.

Lonnie, is this on 7.5? I've been testing an automation script action running from an escalation to scan logs, it should be fairly easy to have it look for the error then send out an email.
