We customized the LOTO in MAXIMO 6.x and are still using it in our upgraded 7.5.0.1. Communication templates are used for formally requesting a LOTO and this is logged automatically on the work order. Custom status changes separate from the work order status are done with pulldown which govern some logic with the LOTO fields. Training and testing is required once per year with a passing grade to qualify to use LOTO. The training and testing is linked to an external site in our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Dept. The LOTO qualifications are updated from the EHS database every night. Other security is handled using MAXIMO security groups. Saved queries are used to locate specific LOTOs and work orders. Custom BIRT reports serve as the required hard copy LOTO certificates and are maintained in the control room. A bar code scanner is used to scan tag IDs into the LOTO.
