Re: Maximo Mobile to Datasplice

From: Ron Sleijpen (2011-07-27 16:09)

Dear Jagan,

We have just purchased Maximo Mobile and have the exact same problem.
The performance is really, really bad.
IBM is checking on this issue what to do about it.
So for now this is the only information I can give you.

Kind regards,

Ron

We have the same problem back in 2007 and we spent hours and hours to explain the problem to IBM developer in US. At the end not really satisfied result.
After 4 years now you are saying that they still have the same problem...performance.
Lucky that we decided to build our own mobile solution by using MIF / MEA and web service for:
- Inventory transaction and physical count
- Meter reading
We are planning to move forward to have it in Android tablet.

Hi, Does any one have a more recent experience with IBM Maximo Mobile. The previous experiences are a bit dated and I was curious to know if the situation is better today. I like the idea of one-stop-shopping but not at any costs. We are considering Maximo Mobile, EZMaxMobile and Datasplice but I am required to make 4 recommendation so if you would like to share your experience from using the above products or some other it would be of tremendous help.

There's also the new Maximo Worklight solution from IBM and Schads Extend Maximo Mobile offering. I'd recomend taking a closer look at Worklight. It seems like one of the more flexible offerings out there currently.

sdcosta1: What are your requirements for a mobile solution? I have developed a very cost effective mobile solution and would be interested in you evaluating it but I'd like to know your requirements first. Please let me know what they are and we can talk more if my solution can accommodate your needs. Sarah

What modules of Maximo do you plan on using in the Mobile? We implemented DataSplice on Windows CE handhelds several years ago. We use it for Work Orders and Inventory.
