[MAXIMO List] Entire Maximo Application becoming Read Only On SAVE

Hi All,
We are facing one strange issue in one of the Maximo 7.5 application.
We have done very little customization on this OOB application.
When we try to save a record the entire application screen becoming read
only and all the fields becoming blank.
But when go to list tab and search the record i am able to see the complete
screen with values populated in it.
No log entry getting updating for these transaction, so we are not able to
debug this error.
We are not modified the base class in the main object.
Any suggestion highly appreciated..

First place I'd check would be the log (mxserver.stdout and mxserver.stderr)
- see if any errors are happening at that point. Since you don't have a lot
of information to go by, that's your best bet right now.

I'll add to that the suggestion to turn logging to "DEBUG" to give yourself the best chance of captureing some data.

Point is there is error happening at this time. Record is getting saved
properly. But as soon as it gets saved entire screen becomes read only and
the values in all the field becomes blank.

Hi Vijay
I would have checked for issues with existing data in the table. Specially
the ones with domains associated.
I faced a similar issue because of a field (migrated data from backend)
having bad values.
Give it a try or still the best option is to get something in logs.

I would enter data field by field and save after every field entry. This will allow you to track the issue down to the field level, as some said earlier there might be an issue with data in a field that is being populated.. Can you enter just a description and save with out entering a Location or Asset? What configuration do you have in Work Order tracking? Do you have any crossover domains that are puling data from other tables? Do you have any database triggers?

I've made custom apps where that's what I want to happen.
Go to your Application Designer, pull up that app's design.
In version 6.x, there is an Action Menu option to Toggle/Show All Controls. I assume you have something similar in 7.x. Choose it.
Now view the Properties for the Presentation control of the design.
At least in 6.x, you'd want there to be no WHERE clause, the Results Table ID = results_showlist, and the app bean class should be populated (I'm not sure that you've mentioned which app is troubling you, so I can't give you the right answer).
Other than that, I'd recommend:
--checking customizations made to the app bean
--exporting the XML for the app design and look for any customizations, especially looking for words ONSAVE or ONLOAD.

I tried to cretw a new record. filled only required field. still issue
persists.
FYI, the application is location. And database is recently migrated.

Verify the existing data in table is good and all fields have data values
as per domains.
-backup the entire table and related tables
- truncate
- create a new record

Hi Amit,
Somehow we have rectified the error.
When we create a new record or make changes in the current record and save,
instead of record getting saved in the unique id it is getting saved in
some other id. And the sequence is very random.
We still not sure what changes causing this issue...??
