Fix packs are not considered reversible.
This is why I always zip the Maximo folder prior to installing something
like a fix pack. Our Wintel managers create VMWare snapshots for us but
they hate to keep them around long because of the performance implications.
So while I have them take a snapshot prior to an installation, i supplement
that with a zip of the Maximo folder. It generally ends up being about 4 to
6 GB and I can tolerate keeping one or two of those for an extended time.
The real bugaboo is the data. If the fix pack modified the schema, and you
have run for a while since and have data that you can't afford to lose, you
are rather hung out to dry.
>>Is there a way you can uninstall a fix pack and go back to the one prior?
Only thing that comes in mind is to restore the backed up SMP folder and
then restore to the database backup prior to fix pack installation. Any
suggestions or correction of my assumption are welcome.
