Wow, that's a pretty broad question!
We are currently on 7.5.0.4, and have been using Migration Manager successfully ever since we upgraded from 6.2 -> 7.1. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but I suppose that's true with any new tool. The biggest challenge is understanding what migration groups to use for what. That just takes time. Be very aware of the dependent objects in the groups. While you can control what is included in one of the group's main objects through the where clauses, you can't control what's included in the dependent objects. Again, that is just something that takes some time to get a feel for. If you are using MM in snapshot mode, be aware of the order you create your packages in, they should be applied in the same order. Otherwise you might inadvertently overwrite some change. One other little gotcha to be aware of, when you make a change to an object through the database configuration app, it will automatically apply the change to any views based on that object. When you migrate those changes using MM, it will not, so you have to explicitly call out the dependent views in the where clause.
When we first started using it in 7.1, we did stumble upon a few bugs, not unusual for something new. IBM has been pretty responsive about taking care of them. The only one still outstanding that I am aware of is that numeric range domains do not migrate exactly right.
In general I would say that we have found migration manager to be an invaluable tool for applying releases in a consistent repeatable manner. Read the documentation, devise a strategy for using it, and dive in. Using it is really the best way to learn it.
Hope this helps.
