Authentication against AD but authorization against maximo groups

Hi guys,
As part of configuring AD with maximo I have a requirement to be able to
setup authentication against AD while the authorization happens within
maximo.
Thus when a new user gets added to the AD it is synced into maximo but
maximo does not care about the groups within AD.
Is that possible ?

This for sure possible , it is a part of installation configuration , while installation you should choose : WebSphere application security for authentication only
