I think the only way is to change the MAXMENU table setting position and
moduleapp for elementtype='APP' and relative keyvalue.

Hi Jun,
Issues and Transfer is no longer exist in maximo 7.5. Due to new method of inventory costing and work order reservation, they replace issue and transfer app to inventory usage app and shipment receiving.

Regards,
Tommy.

Hi Tommy, thanks for the comment.
I agree but there is issue and transfer app if you look at vmware sales kit from ibm. How basically to make this app listed in the inventory module?
Regards.

Hi,
This is so great news!
I don't understand their new approach with Inventory Usage application. It makes issuing and receiving more complicated, doesn't it?
To issue an item now you have to create Usage package, then add an item to this package, then approve the package. Instead of on action.
Maybe I don't understand something... Is there some more info, example, use cases for this functionality?

Alexey

We have been looking at this as well and trying to decide if it would make sense going back to the old way with issues & Transfers. A couple things to consider, although it is extra work, it only
amounts to a couple mouse clicks. The advantage is, you have a record of the issue that is easy to review. We also used to get complaints from the Issues & Transfers that if you had say 20 or 30
lines and one had an error, you often did not know which one it was and the user had to start all over. With this new method, you can save the package, find the error and fix, then complete the
package. You do not have to re-enter all the lines. If your team only does one ore two at a time, then the old Issues & Transfers might be the way to go, but if you do like we do and have many lines
100 + then the package is really the way to go. We have also recently had questions come up like, "I Ihad an item I issued yesterday or earlier today and need to see the data". It's much easier to
pull up the package, then run a report in the Matusetrans table.

Based on this we have decided to keep the current standard. One other thing to note, just because IBM is putting the Issues & Transfers back now, does NOT mean they will keep it in feature releases.
I have been burned with this before.

Thanks

I feel you get the most value out of the new Usage application when you automate the creation of the records. There are several options in the Organizations application that can create the Inventory Usage Records. For example, when a WO is approved and Reservations are created, you can automatically create an Inventory Usage record for the planned materials on the WO. Perhaps you then have a Result Set / Query / Report or drop that new Inventory Usage record into a workflow to route to your Warehouse to "pick" and stage the requested parts. If you use it in this maner, the warehouse never has to create the individual lines, merely open the existing record and change the status to Staged / Complete. There is a similar process you can do for Internal Reorders.
If you don't do a lot of material planning, and just have a walkup / open warehouse, it may just be a cumbersome solution for you as well. One of the big requests I've seen at previous clients as far back as Maximo 4.0 was to have a report that prints out the "transactions I just did", like a receipt. While this is somewhat possible, it can be tricky and is prone to including records that shouldn't have been.
These are the main things that I see as big benefits. YMMV. :)

Wow Sean – thanks for the Inventory Usage tip – I hadn’t realized that flag
was there. That may be a HUGE benefit for the people at an implementation
I’m doing right now.

I’ll have to go look at the flags in the Org app to see what else has been
added …(!)

THANKS AGAIN!
