Maximo 7.1 running on iPads without Everyplace?

From: Kevin Wertz (2014-03-18 11:44)

Hi all, we have a group of users who are interested in running Maximo 7.1
on iPad. We really don't have the bandwidth to mess with Everyplace right
now. I figured we could put the chrome browser on a test iPad and see how
it runs. But I'm just curious if anyone has any experience they can share
about running iPads on 7.1. And btw, we don't need to do scanning.

EZMaxMobile is a very lightweight and doesn't use a lot of bandwidth. It works very well on an iPad and much more user friendly than Everyplace.

If you have good connectivity you don’t need a mobile solution – in the uk mainland I don’t see much need for mobile as there is virtually universal coverage at GDF we are implementing Mobile as the gas platform is in the middle of the north sea ☺

Anyone know a special way to get Maximo 75 to install to a specific SQL Server Instance. Typically in the past I had to fake it out by working with the client to install it to the base SQL Server and then modify the install.properties and the maximo.properties after the installation is complete. This current client has some issues with complying with that request at this time. Any work arounds would be more than helpful.

Okay so I have since been able to do some testing with running Maximo 7.1
on iPad and it runs remarkably well on the chrome browser! Only
show-stopper issue is that the customers requesting this need the ability
to attach photos to records.
On 7.1 the file field and browse button on the attachments screen simply do
not show. At all.
On the 7.5 preview site, the browse button shows and it displays the
expected "choose existing photo" dialog that you usually see on iOS
devices. Indeed I was able to attach a photo from the iPad.
So anyway I was just curious if any of you dealt with this and figured out
how to get the browse button to show up in 7.1.

I have noticed that the browse button sometimes doesn't show up on the desktop version either, unless you position your cursor properly over the dialogue box. Not sure if this is your issue, but it is a data point.

Yeah I have tried tapping everywhere in that area to see if I could click
an invisible button. No such luck.
