Setting Up PM Finish Date.

From: Mark Grimes (2017-11-02 07:17)

At my site we are running Maximo version 7.1 and we have set times
(finished date) to complete each frequency PM.
Weekly & Bi-Weekly we have 5 days to complete.
Monthly & Bi-Monthly we have 10 days to complete.
Quarterly & Semi Annual we have 14 days to complete.
Annual we have 21 days to complete.
My question is, does anyone know how I can automatically populate the
finish date field on my PM's to reflect the frequencies and days listed
above during the PM generation?

The way we have been doing this for years is to populate the Duration field in the job plan with the number of hours with the hours allowed to complete. So for your weekly and bi-weekly PMs the duration would be 120 hours. It’s not a perfect solution but it works with all versions we have encountered out of the box.

Using duration is a great idea, I second that.

We are planning to use the offset fields on the PM to set the late finish date as the date the work order must be completed by. that way we can continue to utilize the duration field to identify the length of time it will take to actually perform the work.

OUr Engineering manager asked for a PM on Time report a 1-2 years back. I ended up using the "Finish Offset" in PM module which transfers to the "Finish No Later Than" field in Work Order Tracking. I have an escalation that checks the Finish Offset based on the frequency and frequency unit. If you need more details, feel free to get in touch with me off the mailing list.

"Finish no later than" is also a very good solution, maps to MS Project as well.
