Has anyone else ran into the issue that after Microsoft's latest Windows
Updates Maximo 7.5.0.x (I have tested both 7.5.0.2 and 7.5.0.4 locally)
prompts with the "Are you sure you want to leave this page?" dialog
whenever an end user clicks a Goto menu item or a tab within a Maximo
application?
The specific Windows Update in question is:
"KB2846071 - Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer" specifically
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2846071)
We have been having this issue since the update was applied to our end user
workstations last night. It appears to affect both IE9 and IE10 (even
though I realize IE10 is not officially supported by IBM in v7.5.0.2.)

I must be the first person to run into this issue. I have submitted a PMR with IBM and so far it has been escalated to L3 Support.
I guess I will just leave everyone with word of caution if you apply Windows updates as Microsoft releases them (as my organization does.)
"KB2846071 - Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer" (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2846071)
Appears to cause issues for Internet Explorer versions 9 and 10.
I will reply within this thread with any further details (hopefully including the fix) to document this issue from inception to solution.

It is not just from the Go To Menu, it is from many places, and basically made Maximo unusable in Service Request and Work Order, every tab clicked and every action clicked. Would you be willing to share your PMR number so when the fix is available we can easily reference.
Thanks!

Hi Martin, et al,
Yes, compatibility mode was one of the first options we attempted. That is
not a solution.
Martin,
IBM has yet to get back to me. It is still sitting with L3 Support.. I'm
not sure giving out the PMR number would be of any help as I don't believe
they are public until IBM makes the issue and APAR. I believe permissions
on the IBM site only allow the customer / others associated with the same
customer number to see each other's PMRs. I do promise to keep everyone
posted as I get details.

I had a user with this issue yesterday. I haven't had time to troubleshoot the cause yet. Maximo worked fine after uninstalling KB2846071.
Thanks for saving me a couple hours of troubleshooting.

No problem Paul,
The only issue is that if you look at that KB article you will see that
this security update fixes a lot of critical (remote code execution)
vulnerabilities which are said to be getting exploited in the wild. So
removing the update was not an option for my organization. The risk is too
high. Hopefully you have a good firewall / filtering proxy server between
your end-users and the net.
On the bright side Firefox, Chrome (though not officially supported), and
Safari are still working so another option might be to install Firefox vs
removing the Microsoft hotfix.
I sure hope IBM gets back to me soon. I had asked for a status update last
night about 7:00pm EDST only to be told (about 30 minutes ago): "I have
forwarded your request to L3. I will let you know when there is an update."
