Hi, is there an easy way (other than export / import) for a non IT Maximo user to insert the same text string into the same field within a large (1,000) record set? This might be similar to a user defined macro in that doing it manually requires the same key strokes to be repeated over and over again.

You can use Escalation to perform these king of task .

Yeah I guess you noticed you get 30 days free. Pay for it after that. You
will get lots of use out of it. It can take some time to troubleshoot the
macros but once you get them going they save a lot of time.

I use a freeware tool called AutoHotKey. You can record keyboard & mouse clicks and loop them to do what you want. I have used this in the past to change leads for PMs.
