Using Rowstamp on a MEA export

From: Hanna, Christopher CTR (2011-07-29 11:41)

Maximo 6.2.2
All,
Has anyone ever tried to use the rowstamp in a MEA export? We are currently extracting (locations for now) data in csv format to be validated externally and then imported back into Maximo. What I would like to do is include the rowstamp in the export so it can be checked when the data is re-imported in order to avoid the import stomping on data that was changed in the application since the time of the export.
I figure I can do it be adding rowstamp as a user field and adding a user exit class to populate it on the way out and check it on the way in. I was wondering if anyone had ever done this and if there was a simpler more elegant way of accomplishing this.
Thanks!
