I implemented job plan versioning in v 4, but used triggers to do the same thing being done in 7 (although not as elegantly).

I think there's another 7.1 industry solution that includes job plan
versioning. You may get more use from what the extra stuff included with
another solution so be sure to take a look before you pull the trigger on
the life science solution...
