MRCost/PRCost

From: philipzadnik (2011-06-27 20:38)

Is there anyone who has made it possible to add a table column for the work order when distrubuting costs between the MRCost and PRCost tables as they work with MR and PR?. And if so, how does one make those costs link back to the work order actual costs? The purpose is to link materials ordered to multiple work orders when making a requistion in the MR as this is our app we use to do requistions on the floor. We don't make requistions using the PR period unless you are the Purchasing dept.

Why would you want to do it that way as opposed to creating new lines? You are either entering new lines in MRLINE or new lines in MRCOST so it doesn't really save anyone time to split costs in the way you are suggesting. Can you elaborate a bit more on your requirement?

The reason we would like to do this is we have similar peices of equipment that we do maintenance to all the time and materials that are not stocked items we want to be able to properly split the costs to the workorders for these peices of equipment. All the MR that we normally try to make are always to a work order and try to stay away from using just a GL account or the location. We want to properly track the costs back to the work order and then back up to the assets by going this route. It was something our old CMMS system was able to do, and worked well with the uniquie business that is a beet sugar factory, but we lost that ability when we upgraded to Maximo. If it is something simple to do, then I would make a request to our IS dept to make the configuration changes, but if it is complex and it is something that would all have to be redone when doing an upgrade from 6 to a more current version of Maximo, then I will have to give up on the idea.
Any help is appreciated.
