expanding the inventory binnum

From: kevwertz (2011-07-26 14:35)

Has anyone expanded inventory binnum in 5.2 or higher to anything higher than 8 characters? If so, did you have any issues with this? For instance, are there any other columns that are not "same as" linked that I would also need to expand?
We have a meeting this afternoon to discuss how to handle a new storeroom. The option is to create a new storeroom in Maximo or just prefix the bin numbers with the new area's name or building number. Pretty sure the question will come up whether or not we can expand the bin number by a few characters. Thanks in advance.

Kevin
I have expanded the length of the BINNUM to various lengths up to 20
characters with out any problems at a number of MAXIMO sites ( MAXIMO 6 &
7).
