Desktop Requisitions

From: cbrandon63 (2011-09-13 21:26)

Has anyone done modification to the DR app in application designer? I see only CREATEDR in app designer .. and nothing about the lines. Can someone tell me how to make modifications to this application?
Thanks in advance

I don't know which version you're using, but in version 6.x Desktop Requisitions is not fully available through the app designer. You'll have to export the xml, make your modification, and re-import the xml. Hopfully that has been changed in version 7 or 7.5.

I only see the initial screen .. not the lines.  Wanted to add some additional fields, maybe even some of the user defined fields in MR.  Where is the lines part of the application?

You have to modify it in the library.xml. find the createreq tabgroup. If you want the fields to show up in the view requisition you will also need to modify the viewreq tabgroup. I found that when you re-import the xml you sometimes need to bounce the application to get the changes to take affect.

So this application has to be modified directly in the xml? Great! I took the class in using application designer and don't know xml. ugh!
In the app designer I can export/import the xml for the application and that xml in test environment is different from production environment. Looks like only one version library.xml that is used by both. Is that correct?
I am over my head on this one I think.
Thanks for your help here.

Hi Brandon,
That's not true that the Production and development environment use the same XML. They may be same in their lines in them(if you haven't modified them before) but the files are different.
You don't have to be very good at XML, just copy the lines from same XML and modify them according to your requirement. When modifying the XML directly make sure you change the id numbers of the lines copied and always see the application in the designer or in the module itself so that you have a reference point where you have to add the new fields.
Thanks,
Victor.
