I have seen several documents and presentations that state that Maximo 7.5 has receipt tolerance functionality that
"Provides functionality to control against `over-receipt' of lines
against a PO. Establishes a tolerance threshold at which the user
can be either warned or stopped during an over-receipt situation."
Does anyone know where you set the system to either warn the user or stop the user?

I appreciate the response but I have already been to that site. Like all other information I have found it notes that this functionality exists but it does not say specifically how to enable it. I need to know where specifically in Maximo I set the application to warn the user versus stop the user when receipt tolerances are exceeded. Does anyone one know where these settings are enabled within the application?

It is in Security Groups. Open the group you want to edit then the option are on the "Limits and Tolerance" Tab. You specify these per organization per group. I have not used it personally (other than to clear all of the fields). My guess would be Limits is the limit, Tolerance is what is allowed (and hopefully warned) and any thing beyond is not allowed.

In my opinion there is no such functionality to activate such prompt messages. As far as I understand from the language on the site, it says that you can void the receipts which are in excess of the PO.
There is a select action in Receiving Application for doing the following :
1.Void the receipts for transactions that occurred in error.
2.Return rotating assets and direct issue items to vendors.
3.Accept or to return materials or services that are received in excess of the ordered quantity.
4.View related records for receipts, such as invoices, contracts, and requests for quotations.
Also, for Maximo mobile Suite 7.5 they have added this to the receipts tolerances :
Receipt tolerances
You can set an over-receipt tolerance that prevents workers from receiving an item in excess of the tolerance limit. You can use the Maximo Mobile Inventory Manager component to void receipt transactions.
Please check it in the Security Application if there is any Limits or Tolerances settings, then it must be in the Security application, "Limits and Tolerances" Tab.

Still on 7.1.1.6 but the limits and tolerances for receipts in 7.5 probably work the same as the PO approval and invoice approval limits and tolerances in 7.1.1.6.
You set these for each security group by calling up that security group in the security group application.
On the limits and tolerances tab put in a limit and tolerance. The upper limit should be positive and the lower limit negative. You can use percantages and amounts and it uses the lessor of the two if both are used.
