Anyone have any good docs/advice for getting started with custom code writing in Maximo?

Are you an experienced Java programmer? If so then the Java Docs are a good resource. If not, that may be a bit overwhelming for a beginner. If you're a Java newbie, take a basic Java course first.
I always recommend taking the IBM training if at all possible. I was able to learn how to write customizations without the training, but I was already a pretty good Java programmer and I had access to the training materials because my predecessor had taken the course. Even so, it would have greatly reduced the learning curve.
