Entering Job Plans with Job Tasks using MIF

From: hanscomm2000 (2011-10-04 11:07)

Maximo 7.5, SQL Server. Created Object with Job Plan and Job Task, using iface table process. When the job tasks attempt to be created Maximo MIF throws error 'ADD is not allowed for this object'. I have tried to create the Job Plan first, no luck. I have made sure MXADMIN has a default site and restarted server. User can add Job Plans and task through the UI with no problems. I have set up sequencing of the tasks with the TRANSSEQ to ensure proper flow of the task, no luck. Anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Mike Hanscom

Mike,
In your Object Structure, did you set up JOBPLAN as the primary object and
then add JOBTASK as a child using the relationship JOBTASK? If you try to
use an Object Structure with just Job Task or with Job Task as the parent
object, you'll get that 'ADD is not allowed' error.

Mike,
Did you set relationship between jobplan and jobtask in your interface object?

Yes, I did, Job Plan as the Primary, Job Task as secondary relationship defaults to JobTask.

Isn't the JOBTASK essentially a MODIFY as it is an addition to an existing
JOBPLAN? Have you tried the JOBTASK entries as a MODIFY rather than an ADD?

I think the command you'll need is CHANGE. The options available through MIF when loading are Add, AddChange,Change or Delete.

He shouldn't have problems - I recently loaded Job Plans using Add (from
Excel spreadsheets), and it went quite smoothly. I notice you are using an
interface table, so the first thing I would check is to see if the "Support
Flat Structure" check-mark is on in the Object definition. While you're
there, take a look and make sure that the "Alias Conflict?" check-mark is
NOT on.

If that doesn't work, let us know .

Issue resolved, too many hours and too many tasks at one time. Status of the Job Plan MUST BE 'DRAFT' not any other opition that is available. Loaded the Job Plans with status of INACTIVE, change it through the back end to DRAFT and issue resolved itself. Thanks to all that provided input.
