I'm curious - has anyone on this list created any tools or scripts that help compare the configurations between two Maximo environments (e.g., test and production) to confirm that they are the same? I know it's a daunting (and maybe impossible) task, but if anyone has anything that compares any number of objects (workflows, escalations, application designs, dbconfigs, etc.), I would be very interested.

Theo - I have some scripts, I'll contact you directly to discuss their use
and usefulness in comparing environments.

There's a product called DBDiff that works quite well for me. It compares
objects at the database level, i.e. required fields, table columns, etc.,
but can also compare data between tables if I remember correctly (I haven't
had occasion to use it for a while).
If you want to try it, it's here:
http://www.dkgas.com/dbdiffsq.htm
Note: this includes both DBDiff for SQL Server and DBDiff for Oracle. The
site also has the individual database versions available too.

You can also feel free to download a free trial version of the Configuration
Pro "Analysis Edition" for Maximo. It's time limited but will do a full
compare for you so may help you troubleshoot the problem you're having. It
does a compare of the Maximo data model plus most other types of Maximo
configuration settings (workflow, mea/mif jobs, escalations, org/site
settings, etc). It saves the configuration data in a local file and then
walks you through comparing this to a different Maximo database or to the
same Maximo database at a different point in time to track changes, such as
before and after an upgrade. Also includes a few integrity checkers (in
the Tools menu) that makes sure Maximo indexes are in place, sequence
counters are high enough, etc.
This page will send you an email with a download link for ConfigPro:
