BIRT supplied with Maximo vs. Actuate BIRT.

From: craig4cmms (2011-10-20 17:05)

Trying to decide between BIRT and Actuate BIRT. What is not available
with BIRT integrated with Maximo version 7.1 as compared to Actuate 8
reporting in Maximo version 6.2? I understand the existing Actuate 8
reports will have to be converted to BIRT. Once that is done is there
any loss of functionality as compared to Actuate reporting in Maximo
6.2?
Thank you, Craig

There is a difference between Maximo BIRT and Actuate BIRT - mostly in commercial funtions (e.g. Actuate includes ability to embed flash objects, more custom wizards, etc). I don't think you have any loss of functionality from Actuate in 6.2 vs. BIRT in 7.1.
In fact I'd say you gain functionality with BIRT in Maximo 7.1. The ability to move ad hoc reports created by end users to a full blown report is one the stand out features that Actuate does not have.
