Maximo version 5.2
If you are experiencing issues with Maximo v5.2 whereby you are unexpectedly evicted from the application back to the login screen, then you may have a problem with Java.
I downloaded the latest Java client (version 6 / update 29) last week and experienced this problem.
The fix is to remove the Java client using the control panel / add remove programs and install a previous version of the Java client. I picked update 26 and it was fine.
Symptoms are similar to this old IBM Maximo issue:
Session Termination with Unexpected Display of Login Screen (M04767 / 1263015)
Funny this just happened to us yesterday also. Build 29 does not respond with Maximo 5.2 at all, terminates the session and brings you back to your login screen.
I also believe another work around is using (XP) and Java is in your tray, you search through the tabs and I believe there is one so it will NOT update.
