The intent of this post is to save others the pain I went through last week regarding the mxe.int.dfltuser for the MIF.
We were getting an inbound error in the message reprocessing app for a work order that said "Invalid failure code". the code was perfectly valid. We were not getting this error at all in the development environment, which was identical, or so we thought.
After spinning my wheels for several hours, I finally decided to look at the security groups the MXINTADMIN user was in, and someone didn't migrate the proper security groups for that user.
Instead of throwing an error that made sense, Maximo was throwing a completely irrelevant error.
Lesson learned: Make sure your mxe.int.dfltuser is part of the maxadmin group, or another group that has rights in Maximo.
