Does anyone know how the Asset.Moved? field is populated in Maximo? The description states "flag indicates active or moved "
We have tried the following on assets -- but the flag has not changed...
Changed status to Decommissioned
Moved the asset to a different location
Changed downtime status (non-operational)
Reported downtime (operational and non-operational)
Any ideas as to what we are missing --
thanks so much...
Marjy
Dear All,
(Maximo 5.2)
We are facing some issues related to PM Work Order generation. Some of the work orders generating in 2012 found got duplicated. I have checked the previous work orders for the same PMs which have been found duplicated - and found the old work orders are generated with out any problems - NO DUPLICATES.
Is any one of you facing this problem in pm generation with Maximo 5.2?
What you have done to fix this issue? Any information in this regard
is highly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Veegee.
I seem to remember a dim memory of having that problem with a 5.2
installation. Unfortunately, I can't remember what exactly caused it, but
here are some ideas:
1. Did you change your patch level recently (which may not be doable
since I think IBM has discontinued support, but I have to ask).
2. Also: check to make sure all the data on the PMs is valid.
Sometimes the work order gets duplicated if the work order creation process
can't finish for some reason the first time.
3. Also: did the counter get incremented the first time?

What I have normally come across is that, if for some reason the PM cron encounters an exception while generating a Work Order for a specific PM (for example an invalid location), the PM cron would still go ahead and generate the Work Order, where as it would not update either the dates of the PM or the counter, which would mean that the PM is still a candidate for generating Work Orders on the next PM Cron run. Check your PM Cron logs to confirm the same.
Thanks.
