From: John (2012-01-20 19:17)

Subject: Symptoms of a Problem
Although just one of the below problems could cause a problem for your system, if you have 5 or more, then you should be concerned.
1) Turnover has occurred in key positions, e.g. Maximo Administrator
2) Users complain of lack of training
3) System speed/performance issues exist
4) Management is complaining about lack of reports
5) No Core Team; no CMMS Functional side expert
6) System goals/objectives unclear; management backing weak
7) Culture problem; lack of buy-in to the system; ease-of-use issues
8) Foundation data seems to be missing
9) Too many Worktypes; Failure code hierarchy is poorly setup
10) No CMMS Business Rules; no Definitions
11) No error checks in place
12) Aside from labor actuals, very little work order feedback
13) System is on old version, and there seems to be lots of customization
14) Documentation for past changes seems to be lost
15) No failure analysis process; no reliability team
16) Confusion exists over who owns the data
17) The various work groups use the system differently; no standard process
18) No awareness of advanced processes where ROI resides
19) No Key Performance Indicators exist
20) No enforcement of system use; inability to sustain project initiatives
21) No long-term roadmap exists for operational excellence
