Maximum Heap Size for 64 bit JVM

From: cambrown28 (2012-02-23 06:37)

Any recommendations for Maximum Heap size for a 64 bit JVM for Maximo 7.1.1.10 running on Windows Server 2008?
It is my understanding that the problem of Maximum Heap sizes being too large and exhausting Native Heap memory is not an issue in 64 bit systems like it was with 32 bit systems.
We have a 64 bit server with a Maximum Heap size of 2645MB. The server has 36GB of RAM installed but we are still seeing java/lang/OutOfMemoryError errors in the native_stderror log file when importing large amounts of data using the MIF.
Any recommendations or experiences?

IBM typically recommend 4096m on 64 bit systems.
