Suggestion: Rather than make an elaborate Asset Hierarchy drill-down, you could
add a new field to Asset main screen.
Call this field
UniformatCode
And then add a value list to this field containing all possible Uniformat Codes.
Example choices might be:

.Laboratory Equipment

This type of breakdown allows you to write any imaginable report and slice-and-dice accordingly.
