Hey everybody I got something strange here. One of my users logs into Maximo and then the start center does not come up. Everyone else can login just fine. Has anyone seen this issue before?
I hit F5 and it just ask to retry or cancel if I hit retry it does nothing.

Does it happen on all machines or just his/her laptop or pc?
If only on one machine, clear all the IE (or whatever browser) caches. Check IE settings and maybe uninstall/reinstall IE.
On all machines:
1) corrupted personal Start Center - does user have the right to edit - losing connection while in the process of saving changes could have caused a file to get corrupted. This is not necessarily because of anything the user did - the WebSphere/WebLogic may have gone down (or the database) in the midst of a save.
2) messed up security. Remove the user from one group. Save. Sign off. Sign back on. Repeat until the user is not in any goups. Verify that the user does not have any 'orphaned' security in the database - i.e. select * from scconfig where username = 'XXX';- no rows should appear. There used to be one record that had to removed manually from the database back in version 4, but I think that bug was corrected in version 5 and on.
Add back in doing the same process. (Do not remove multiple groups or add multiple groups to this user at one time.)
IF this does not solve the problem, add another user with exactly the same rights and see if that user has the same poblem. If yes, it will likely be a security conflict between groups. Go through the groups line by line (create a spreadsheet) and try to find the conflict.

Sometimes after an app server reset I have to make a change to a user in my websphere vmm to get the user groups to sync up again because recent new users, in Maximo security have reverted to new user, everyone and have no actual security group
