Is there a way to identify or flag an asset as critical to safety in maximo 7.x? i.e. - gas detection equipment, pressure vessels, ventilation systems, cranes, lifting devices, machine guarding etc.
I would like to be able to run an inventory report of critical to safety assets.
thanks,
~R
Two quick ways. One, set an asset priority to a value that you will internally identify as critical per the criteria you listed below. Two, add a new YORN value via Database Config on the Asset table that will flag the an asset as being critical. We do this to make PSM assets and locations stand out from other process critical assets.

Thanks Jason.
Mike Peter also gave me a good idea.
Using "Collections" you can create a collection called "safety critical" and then using asset module bundle/attach the assets to the "collections". This allowed me to quickly filter for certain assets and attach all at once. Also I have assets attached to other collections without having to modify the asset record.
if anyone is interested.
Adding assets to collections

You use the Assets application to add one or more selected assets to one or more active collections. A collection is a group that can contain assets, locations, and classification items. An asset can be added to more than one collection.
Procedure
On the List tab of the Assets application, filter the list to display the assets that you want to add to a collection.
Click the Select Records check box, and select the check box for each asset that you want to add to a collection. To select all the assets, check the Select All Records box in the header row of the Assets window.
From the Select Action menu, select Add Assets to Collections.
In the Collection field of the Add Assets to Collections window, click Detail Menu to select an option and to retrieve a value.
Click OK.
