Need specific information on Inventory Utilization

From: phoner13 (2012-04-30 12:17)

We are upgrading to Maximo 7.5 and need information on hard vs soft reservations. Does anyone have the logic used to create APHARD vs APSOFT when the reservation type is AUTOMATIC? Also, there is a cron task the "attempts to change APSOFT to APHARD" but there is no documentation on it. Does Lead Time have an effect on reservation type.
Thanks,
Hal

Lead time is definitely used in the Hard and Soft reservation. Using Automatic will set the reservation to either APSOFT or APHARD based on the required date of the item and the lead time form the inventory record.
If the item is required outside the lead time on the item inventory, the system will set the reservation to APSOFT, and once the required date falls within the lead time the system through the CRON task will automatically change the reservation to APHARD.
