QA verification of work orders

From: cbrandon63 (2012-05-10 21:40)

We have a new requirement to implement QA verification of work orders on molding tools.
Basically, when maintenance does any work on a molding tool the QA group must verify that the mold tool is producing parts within spec.
My thought was to add "QA" specifications to each tool (asset), but how do I get those brought into the workorder for QA enter their specs and compare against. The work order cannot be complete until they are.
Also would like be able to have the ability to generate a child work order when the tool is not in spec.
This is a new process to me. Is anyone doing anything like this? Would you be willing to share your experience?

What about if you put the specs on the job plan for the asset? That way, if you associate the work order with the job plan, the job plan attributes come onto the work order.
I don't think that attributes from the asset spec come onto the work order unless maybe a cross over is done to copy the asset class to the work order.

I have used the calibration app to maintain tools within spec.
This works very well because you keep the cal work history linked to the tool. you can only add the tool to your work order if it has a good cal date .

PERFECT!!!  That's exactly what I want to do.  And, can't you have nested job plans in v7.5?  (We are just now in the process of upgrading so I haven't had much play time in there and IBM's documentation is pretty much non-existant.)
