Lookup of Section Values for Classification Attributes

From: jakesteijn (2012-06-05 18:32)

All,
I have created a classification which applies to work orders. The classification has about 30 attributes. When a the classification is applied to a work order, the attributes appear in the specifications tab.
I have assigned sections to the attributes, and have added the section field as a column in the attribute display under the specifications tab. I can filter and sort attributes by this column. However because there are now about 39 attributes to a work order so classified, a user may have to search through several screens to be certain all attributes are covered. I would like to provide a lookup function, like is applied to the "attribute" column, for the section column.
I've tried entering "SECTION" into the lookup field of the control, and also what I think is the full specification of the field, which is
WORKORDERSPEC.SECTION. In runtime the column shows the filter magnifying glass next to the header) but when I click it I see an hourglass for few seconds and it goes away. I see no messages in the system log.
Any ideas on how to set up a lookup of section when filling in values for the specification attributes? Why do I not get any error messages when I create something that apparently is not functional in application designer (I have logging set to INFO)?
System is MAM 7.5 sp2, Websphere, Windows 2008 and MS SQL Server 2008.

SECTION field is only a free text field and has no domain so the lookup is
not going to work.. In order to create a lookup you would need to create a
domain and add it to the section field.. Not sure if that would even work,
but it would be the only possibility that I can see..
