implement Single Sign On(SSO) for Maximo

From: syed a (2012-06-20 08:32)

We are planning to implement Single Sign On(SSO) for Maximo.
Our current Maximo Environment is as follows
Maximo version is 7.1.1.8
Wepshere 7.0.0.15
Oracle10g 10.2.0.5.0
I would like to confirm from anybody who has implemented SSO on Maximo that
is it necessary to create group MAXADMIN and users such as wasadmin, maxadmin, maxreg, mxintadm in MicroSoft Active Directory as given in IBM installation & administration guide of IBM MAXIMO 7 on Websphere.
without creating this group & users can we implement Single Sign On(SSO) for Maximo.
regards

We have done SSO with Maximo 7.5.0 websphere 7.0.0.15 and MSSQL 2008r2. The user group is not necessary, but you do need to specify the correct DN. We did create the users recommended. We were setting this up as a new instance, the usernames and passwords need to be created EXACTLY as the guide says, those passwords are hard coded in the installs. After the install we changed all of those passwords.

Hello,
Any thanks for your response.
Rightnow we are working on Native Authorization but for going Appserver Security & integrating with MSAD you mean to say we must create those users as suggested by IBM otherwise no integration possible right.

I do not know the answer to that. All I know is that they are required for a new setup. The link to the description of the accounts is: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v49r1/topic/com.ibm.mam.inswas.doc/install/c_ccmdb_manconfigdirserv.html
My gut would be that those accounts do need to be created in MSAD as Maximo starts to look to LDAP for those accounts. But this is one of those things that should be tested to confirm. It also would pay off to see what IBM's statement of supported configuration is as well.

Dear Sayed,
Yes you have to create the users on the domain and move to application server security , I have done this before in a test environment , my production environment now working with AppServer security but with no SSO - still in planning phase.
Attached two files that is helped me a lot implementing this scenario before , hope that is help.
Best Regards
