Good morning,
I have been working on a Maximo 6.2 to Maximo 7.5 upgrade, the 6.2 has Maximo Mobile and Oracle MEA adaptor installed.
Per IBM recommendation, I installed 7.1 out-of-box (no add-ons) and then switched the maximo properties file to Maximo 6.2 database and then run UpgradeUT utility (eventhing is according to the IBM v6 to v7 upgrade installation guide). And I run into errors in the UpdateDB step. IBM support mentioned that I have to install Mobile and Oracle MEA adaptor as well before I start UpgradeUI. The source and target environment has to match in terms of add-ons.
Now the scenario is that if a customer has 6.2 Maximo Mobile/other add-ons but decided not to continue to use/purchase it in next version 7.5. So if there is no way to bypass the Maximo Mobile/other add-ons, then this customer would not be able to upgrade to Maximo 7.5 as it has no entitlement to Mobile 7.1 and Mobile 7.5.
Your help is greatly appreciated! Would love to hear from folks who have done this type of upgrades before !
Sam
Check the UPGPoints.xml - ibm\smp\maximo\tools\maximo\classes\psdi\upgrade\v600
This file is used to control which industry solutions will be included (really only necessary if you want to exclude one). From what I recall you just comment out one you want to exclude.
I don't have a MAXIMO up in front of me right now so can't confirm.

Thanks Sean ! I know you are the expert in Maximo upgrades and it is great to have your input.
Yes I did use UPGPoint.xml from v600 directory and comment out the Oracle ERP and Maximo Mobile sections, I was able to pass the Integrity Checker and Validation step of the UpgradeUI utility.
When I run the Upgrade database step (the last step in UpgradeUI) I run into this issue:
Database script update in progress, please wait..........
Current version :V600-8
Updating To :V600-10
Error running file: V600_09
Script Update complete: Error
DATABASE SCRIPT UPDATE COMPLETED WITH ERROR. Cannot add column invoice.schedulerev because the native column already exists. Apparently you are rerunning a failed patch. You must first clean up or refresh the database.
Please advise on how to proceed from here.
Thank you!
Sam

What the exact version that 6.2 is at (patch level and DB level)? The upgrade process doesn't really have a "rollback" feature, so if you got part of the way through it the first time, and encountered an error, then some parts are still in play. The only way to roll back would be to restore the db to a point prior to running an update on it at all.
Typically when I do an upgrade, I have several points where I take a backup of the database so that if I need to roll back it isn't a huge effort.
