User authorization roles

From: e11271b (2012-08-07 19:42)

In a multi site environment, does the name of a role created for a site have to match the site number for that particular site.
For example: If I have a site with a site number of WX123, do I then have to crete a role that represents that site with the name WX123?

I'm assuming you're talking Signature Security (Security Groups) since your subject states "authorization".
Your Group Names can be any name you like, there is no special logic that the system requires. If it makes it easier for you to distinguish a group is specifically for a site by putting the Site Name somewhere in there, you could use the group name or the group description.

Thank You. I set up groups with meaningful names and associated those groups with appropriate sites..
Now.. when I try to assign a user to a security group, logged in as MAXADMIN, I get this error.
BMXAA0028E - Your security privileges do not allow access to the selected option. If you require access to this option, please contact your system administrator.
I find this odd since I am logged in as MAXADMIN.

If you created a new security group you have to grant MAXADMIN the rights to
assign users to that group. Go to the MAXADMIN user record then Select
Actions / Authorize Group Reassignment and select the group you want to
assign the user to. you will have to do this for each new security group
you create.

Was the new created group created using the maxadmin login? You have to grant access for another user to assign or change groups for a user.. Also maxadmin OOTB doesn't always have full access..
